It is with regret that we must announce our withdrawal from "Summersend" Festival on Friday October 8th.
This is down to technical disagreements between the band and the organisers of the event being too large to overcome.
Regardless, we would encourage people still to attend this exciting and unique UK event.
We wish the organisers good luck with Summersend Festival and hope that it continues to go from strength to strength.
Spirit Of Burgas Festival - Burgas, Bulgaria 12-14 August 2011
We are delighted to announce our first ever show in Bulgaria - indeed - the furthest afar we have yet travelled, in order to bring The Octopus to the fantastic Beach Festival of the famous Black Sea Resort of Burgas. Amplifier have been given prime billing and will perform for 1 hour plus, immediately before headliners The Deftones.

Digipaks!
Digipaks are going to be going out starting this week.
They will be dispatched in this order:
1) International
2) Europe
3) UK
If you've ordered a book - they are still not back from being bound.
These will be dispatched when they come back.
Don't worry though! - They are ALL priority mail - so they will be delivered next day, or if they are overseas they go as AIRSURE priority on the first flight.
We will notify you when your edition has been dispatched - whatever the format!

We have to put off the slipcase for now otherwise orders won't get fulfilled until next year.

So far we have taken possession of the digipak versions of The Octopus.
These look AWESOME. I am very happy.
In fact they are so great that we are investing in having slipcases manufactured to keep them safe and neat in for you.
This might add on a few days to the dispatch of the digipaks - but is worthwhile because it means they will last much longer when they are sent out to combat.
I have been promised the delivery of the special edition books for monday 29th November.
We will try our hardest to make sure that these are sent out shortly after.

NOVEMBER#2 2010
Well.
That's been a pretty manic week.
Thanks to everyone that has ordered The Octopus.
Going through the orders is a pretty slow and laborious process, which basically involves opening
up every single email notification checking it against the order details to make sure that there
aren't any mistakes, or that anyone has been missed out by a bad notification. Then each address
needs to be individually pasted into the delivery address mailing template. After that each order
is sent an individual email so that you know that you're being looked after and so that you can
check your delivery address.
This is a big job so if you haven't had an email from me it's only because I haven't go that far.
Basically I'm still on the first two days orders, and there is a long way to go, but don't worry they'll get sorted in time for send out...
More news as things arrive back from the plastic factory. Should be in the next few days.

Obviously, October would have been a sweet month to tie it in with but I guess it wasn't to be.

About The Octopus.
It's taken a long time that's for sure, and the reasons are long, complex and boring.
But mostly it's taken this long because it has just been a huge and ambitious undertaking.
The final heavyweight comes in at over 2 hours, and I promise you, you will be listening to it for a very long time indeed...
But anyway, what you all need to know is that it really has been worth the massive effort on our side and the seemingly endless patient wait on your side.
I'm very very chuffed, and this will probably be the high point of what we do, so consequently, it's important that we finish it off (in that I mean the packing and presentation) to the same standards as the content.
The hard work is done, and now it's a matter of logistics and manufacturing.
Needless to say - we want it to be with you as soon as possible, and I promise that everyone who has written to be on the orders list will be serviced first before we send a single copy out to any press or any industry types or what not.
All you people are more important to us then anyone else. Back soon... x

Crikey! Doesn't time fly by? - It was a year ago that we were stepping foot into The Chapel to start recording The Octopus. Meanwhile - great swathes of it lie finished, while other areas remain untouched awaiting beating into glorious rock masterpieces by the fine touch of the master producer's fader...
So, we've put up loads of the record so far, to much enthusiastic response (which is always nice!).
We will keep you updated track by track as The Octopus draws to its completion.

Firstly, contrary to the reportings of a well-respected german magazine, The Octopus IS NOT released this month...
Believe us - if it were, you would know all about it and we would be the happiest campers this side of happy-land...
However - there is still mucho work to be done...
In the meantime, there is yet another new track up for your attention...
You should bear in mind that this is still less than half of The Octopus.
When we say it's massive -

Even as we speak, Amplifier are in the process of recording tracks for their next 2 albums.
Entitled "Mystoria" and "The Octopus", they will be done and dusted towards the end of the year.
When asked why they decided to record two albums at once, they replied that it was easier and less of a effort than having to concentrate on merely one.

Given that Franz Ferdinand won + AMPLIFIER have played less than a dozen times in Germany with the record barely promoted there yet the band are delighted. Europe has been good to AMPLIFIER! This has been a week of strange internet stuff; oh well...
****It has come to our attention that there is a rumour of an AMPLIFIER show in Chatham. This is not true. Genuine shows will be put on the board as soon as they're confirmed by AMPLIFIER. Anything else, ignore. Well you can believe NME, Kerrang! etc but you know what we mean... If you speak to AMPLIFIER management by any means other than this board + it's email addresses please can you inform us, because it's very unlikely to have been a legit conversation.
